Automatic line break microsoft word
Presently the options are restricted to "Tab character", "Space" and "Nothing". An automated line break would simplify the formatting of, for example, chapter numbering, so that applying "Heading 1" would not only add text like "Chapter" before the number but also force the chapter title to a separate line but not for the TOC. Thus, the heading for the first page of the first chapter would show as: Chapter 1 Introduction but in the TOC it would appear on one line as "Chapter 1 Introduction" Since the option to "Follow number with: Line break" doesn't presently exist, what would be the simplest work-around to automate my objective when applying a specific Heading style?
For now it's easy enough just to insert the line breaks manually, but I'm figuring out my best approach for a project that would require much more extended application of similarly tweaked headings and I would welcome any suggestions.
